Broke? Soldat Is Clutch.

One day after coming home from class, I decided to make myself some food and watch TV. After about five minutes of fiddling around in the kitchen, I start to pick up on a thump of a wall being punched and obscenities manifesting from my room. I was just guessing that my roommate was playing the challenges on God Of War (some are impossible) but when I walked in, I was taken by surprise. "You gotta play this dude," is what my roommate said. I asked him what the hell kind of game would cause him to have so much emotion, and the answer was Soldat. Soldat can only be described as a mutant of other best-selling games. It combines a side view from Worms, the guns and fast paced action from Counter-Strike, and the brutality from the Quake series. It is totally free, and after a short download and figuring out the location of the keys, I was knee deep in opponent's bodies while firing a XM214 Minigun and listening to some death metal provided in game. Pure goodness to say the least. Soldat offers seven game modes like CTF (capture the flag) deathmatch, and team match. It also offers intelligent bots for when you're playing alone and dedicated servers when you want to slap a friend around. With over 18 weapons and 42 different maps, Soldat is definitely worth checking out if you are low on funds and want to experience something new. Tell me what you think. Later.

I hate to go a tad off-topic, but you did mention the "challenges" in GoW (which I'm assuming is a reference to the Challenge of the Gods), and you said some were "impossible."

Well, that can't be true, because I beat that Challenge, and I'm currently on my way back through the game on Hard with my fancy new Hades Armor equipped. It's like playing the game on Easy with that thing! ;)

I'm not saying I myself thought they were impossible, but to my room mate they were. He got a little on the emotional side and ended up breaking a few controllers that same day. I just sat back and watched the fun happen until I started to feel bad and beat the last 2 for him.
