GH 3 And Rock Band.
In response to the question posted yesterday, I don't even know really where to start so here goes. The article about Rock Band was not written by me because the Bulletin never asked me to do it. If they asked me, I would have graciously accepted if they would have payed for Rock band. With a price tag of $175.00, it is doubtful that they would. Maybe if they see this and start SENDING me games, I could keep people more informed. Anyways, that's just a pipe dream. Besides, I am really more into action/RPG/shooting/fighting games. It is true that I like to play Guitar Hero, but I never got into it as much as Gears of War or Halo 3 for example.
I'm not slacking, just really busy with getting everything wrapped up for the semester and living my life. Guitar Hero 3 did indeed come out recently (Oct 28th) and Rock Band came out on November 20th. I think that the company who produced both of these titles didn't want buyers without a game for a long period of time, so they released GH3 (got an 8.7) to keep them busy before they almost "upgraded" to Rock Band (9.2) by adding drums, vocals, etc. Don't get me wrong, GH3 stands by itself with awesome songs and boss battles, but Rock Band just takes being a "rockstar" a little further by adding different elements of gameplay as not everyone just wants to play with a guitar. The most likely reason there was a month in between is that people don't want two great things at one time because they think they have to choose between the two. One now and one a month later is an excellent marketing decision on their part. I doubt anyone who is a fan of the series would pass over GH3 and wait for Rock Band. Just a thought. If I had kids of my own, I would say "either you get one or the other; or just buy the one I don't get yourself." Luckily I don't have kids, so this won't come up for me.
