The Grandaddy Of all Sim Games.

Yes, it finally came in today. Sim Earth, released back in 1992 for the SNES is now in my possession for the fee of 8 dollars. Yee-haw. I came across it on E-Bay and knew that I had to play it again. I remember back in the day (like 1996) when I actually rented the game and played it. You create an entire world from nothing and watch evolution and the world flourish. Well, a lot of people did that; I just built it up and then destroyed them with plagues and volcano eruptions. This game did teach me one thing...that talking globes are always right and patience. I left the SNES on for about four hours, just letting the world go. When I returned, I found battling nations and an N-Bomb being set off. Lovely, just like the real world. Seriously though, it takes SOOOO LONGGG to get anything done in that game, but it is well worth it. Go download the rom and see for yourself, later.

Armageddon.

I hear good things about this game, and I hear bad things about it as well. You always know that good is going to win when it comes to Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. 5 DOZEN fighters in this installment, also featuring, "kreate a fatality," which sounds like some fun on a bun. It reminds me of Tekken 5, where there was a lot more then just one-on-one fighting. After looking at some reviews, this game seems like a good buy even if you are not really a fan of the series. There is a story mode, create a character/fatality, a racing game dubbed, "Motor Kombat,"
and of course buying unlockables from the, "Krypt." There are some downfalls though: laggy online gameplay, not doing all the extras right, and just doesn't have that feel like MK1 did when we were in awe and shock.
Ah well, there's no perfect game out there, but I'd enjoy to GET THIS FOR CHRISTMAS!!!! (hint-hint) If I had unlimited funds, I'd pick this up to play around with on a Saturday morning, but I'm getting Bully for ps2 this week (hopefully) so that and Scarface (awesome) will be taking up most of my time. Later.

I saw It, And It Creeped Me Out.

That's right, I have seen the first commercial for the Playstation 3, and believe me, it freaked me out more then a lot of things do. It starts off with a small plastic baby sitting in a white room with a PS3 console. The babie's eyes light up, filled with screenshots that will most likely be appearing on the new gaming platform. So if that isn't weird enough, the eyes then fill with fire, and the baby begins to move. Freaky. The Playstation rises up, most likely under mind control of the baby. I was like, "what the hell is going on here?" The commercial made no sense, and didn't even show off what the PS3 was capable of. If you search the internet, you can most likely find it on Utube. I, however, do not know how to put videos up here, but once I do, I'll show you how freakin' weird Sony has gone. Hopefully, it is just for the Halloween season, but there is always a chance that they have lost their mind.

Buying And Selling.

Alright, after racking up a huge amount of bills (new cell phone, credit cards) I figured that I needed to make some cash. I made a lot selling things on E-bay, but that just wasn't enough. For some reason, I really want a PS2, so I began my search for one. I was given one by Mike ( one of my residents) that I could use until the end of the semester. Sounds like a good deal, right? What if I buy games for it though? So there is a gameless PS2 sitting in my room. Sad to say, my PSP died. Literally, it died. There must have been something faulty in it or something, because every time I charge it, the battery only lasts for a couple of hours instead of 12 or 14. Eh, that's ok, I don't really play it much because I have so many other things that have to be done. So in a deal, I decided to give up the PSP for another PS2 and $85. Sound like a good deal? Let me know. Life is hard for a gamer...

College+ Games= Hard To Juggle.

Class, study, homework, job, R.A. stuff, sleep, work blah blah blah blah. I need a vacation. All I want to do is just sit down and be able to relax. It's been really hard this week to do anything not involving school (midterms and such) Well anyways, I took a mental health day and decided to go play NBA Jam and WWF Royal Rumble and dust off the old SNES. I brought it all down to the lounge and played it on the 50 inch T.V. Awesome way to unwind and take off some stress I've been having in the past few days. If you're a college student, or a really stressed person, kick back and go play some Nintendo or something, you'll thank me when you don't go insane! Later days.

I <3 Scarface.

I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT. I traded in a few other games so I could get it discounted, and oh was it worth it. I mean, what's better then shooting gang members, selling ya-yo to thugs, and going into a rage and blowing everyone away? That's right....not much else. The game starts off where the movie Scarface ended. You are going through the game, trying to rebuild your once awesome empire. I never really played Grand Theft Auto, but yeah, its kinda like that but I think this is actually better. I can buy buildings, arrange meetings with dealers, and take out gangs (for fun of course) The bottom line is, I think you should get this game, I mean its involved, interesting, and there's a lot of blood. Everyone wants to be Tony Montana and crush some "F*ckin' Cock-a-roaches" every now and then.

E-Bay It.

Let's face it, everyone gets addicted to E-Bay at some point in their life. For I have been for quite some time now. I buy things, I sell things, whatever. Thinking about it now, E-Bay has helped me expand my video game collection ten-fold. I go through all these lists of old Super Nintendo games ( still the best system) and find some sweet ones I haven't played in a while like Raiden Trad and Donkey Kong Country and get them at cheap prices. Yup, there is nothing better then that besides selling a copy of Earthbound to someone on E-Bay for 80 bucks. So go on E-Bay and look around, I'm sure you'll find some games that you loved as a kid.

Hooked On Bubble Bobble.

Ever since my girlfriend found this game for me on Xbox, I have simply been hooked on it. There are 100 levels to conquer, and Susan and I only have gotten to like 72. By myself....31. Is there anyone out there who likes this game as much as I do? (If you never heard of it, I suggest you find it, you'll thank me later.

P.S. I'm sure they just released Ultra Bubble Bobble for the Xbox, and I found it HERE so there should be no excuses.

A Long Time Coming: Reservoir Dogs For Xbox

I've been tracking this game since E3, which was a while back, and was going to write about it sooner, but of course I am ill to say the least. College seems to be a breeding ground for the cold virus. I'll try to give you some info before I lapse once more and go back to bed.

This game has been a long time coming. It seemed like no one really wanted to take on this title, and for good reason. If you haven't seen the movie, stop reading and go watch it. Quentin Tarrantino's masterpiece should be witnessed by everyone. If you still feel like reading this, the movie was about a bank robbery and how the men try and pull it off. They do not use their real names, but colors instead, like Mr. Pink and Mr. Blonde. Anyways, Eidos Interactive finally decided to take on the role as developer. Everywhere I went online to find information could not really give me what I was looking for. It is going to be third person action (like you're running behind the characters.) The plot goes with the movie, but there is more to it then just what we saw on the big screen. Don't fret, once more information comes out and I am not feeling like trash, I'll put it up here so stay tuned. All I know is that the song played while the police man's ear was cut off (Stuck In the Middle With You) IS going to be in the game.....Awesome. Every time I hear that song on the radio, I think of the gas soaked cop getting an ear hacked off, thanks Mr. Tarrantino for burning that image into my skull.

Destroy All Humans 2: Yay For hippy Killing

Until a few days ago, I did not know that Pandemic was releasing another installment of Destroy All Humans, and it does indeed look better then the first. I picked up the original DAH when it first came out and proceeded to beat the game in under two weeks. I sold it back for the same price because I really found no need to play it again. To say the least, it was a fun game one time through only. Pandemic promises that this game will offer tons more then what came before it. DAH2 is set in the 1960's, hence the title to beat down some hippies as you are once again playing Cryptospordium-137 whom needs to collect DNA (A.K.A ripping brains out of people's heads) Hopefully, this game will be a LOT more of a hit then the first. I got a look at some of the weapons, like the once again used anal probe, but what interested me is a new meteor shower that players can use to shower pain on hippies. It was described as "...Charge weapon that calls down a massive 50 foot diameter flaming meteor from space, which devastates everything in its path" Lovely, isn't it? Set to hit the Ps2 and Xbox this fall, the game looks like a good buy for both the die hard fan and new comers to the series.

And for the record, I've never owned a Ps2 because I never saw any great titles for it that wern't on Xbox. Now I see God Of War for $20, I am inclined to spend the $130.00 for a slim and see what Sony has to offer.
